Company History

Co-founders, Jennifer Jacobs M.S. CCC-SLP and Laurie Jacobs M.A. CCC-SLP, are practicing speech language pathologists with a combined 15 years of experience. They recognized the need for products that use technology to treat children with social skill deficits such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, traumatic or acquired brain injury, and other varieties of syndromes, language delays and disorders. In response to the need in their own practices, Social Skill Builder developed a series of software programs that use interactive video sequences to imitate real life social scenarios where children and adolescents commonly interact with peers. Our tools assist parents, educators, therapists and other advocates in effectively teaching social language and interaction. Since our founding in 1999, we have received valuable feedback about our products' usage and effectiveness in teaching social skills. We strive to continue to meet the needs of these children and their families.
